Infidelity Investigation

Don’t Tolerate a Habitual Betrayal

Alex runs a small phone repair and accessories shop in the city center. His excellent repair skills, friendly demeanor, and humor make him popular with customers of all ages. Business is booming, and his shop is always bustling.

His wife, Jane, is an elementary school teacher who spends most of her time taking care of their two kids after work. With her busy schedule, Jane rarely visits Alex’s shop, except during summer or winter breaks when she helps with customer service.

At home, Alex often complains about work stress, drinks heavily to sleep, and seems increasingly distant in their relationship. Despite being in his 30s, he appears worn out and distracted.

One weekend, while the kids were away on a trip with their grandmother, Jane decided to surprise Alex by helping at the shop. However, instead of being happy, Alex seemed nervous, quickly texting someone on his phone. He soon sent Jane out to buy food, claiming he was starving—a clear attempt to get her out of the shop.

Jane couldn’t shake off the uneasy feeling. Determined to understand the situation, she began dropping by the shop unannounced whenever she had the chance.

One evening, after dropping the kids at daycare, Jane brought dinner to the shop without warning. As she approached, she saw a young woman, seemingly in her early 20s, leaving the shop with a backpack. The woman glanced at Jane with a peculiar look, sparking suspicion. Alex’s reaction—sweating and complaining about Jane not calling ahead—only deepened her doubts.

While pretending to shop for clothes next door, Jane chatted with the boutique owner, who subtly hinted that a young woman frequently visited Alex’s shop and acted quite close to him. The boutique owner even advised Jane to keep an eye on her husband, as his behavior seemed questionable.

Realizing Alex might be engaging in inappropriate behavior, Jane decided to hire Lex Solution Investigations, a professional private detective agency, to gather evidence.

Building a Case

Through a well-coordinated surveillance operation, the investigators captured clear evidence of Alex’s suspicious activities. He was seen picking up the young woman from her house before heading to a private location—twice a week. This solid proof confirmed Jane’s worst fears.

Confrontation: Catching Them in the Act

Outraged, Jane opted for a direct confrontation. With the detectives’ help, she arranged a sting operation to catch Alex in a compromising situation. During the confrontation, the young woman’s parents were summoned, and they demanded accountability from Alex.

As expected, Alex, like many who engage in such behavior, crumbled under pressure. He begged Jane to mediate, swearing he would never repeat his mistakes.

Choosing to Stay

Despite her anger, Jane couldn’t bear the thought of her young children enduring the pain of a broken family. Reluctantly, she signed a settlement agreement with the young woman’s family, choosing to forgive Alex for the sake of their children.

Legal Context

As of May 29, 2020, adultery is no longer a criminal offense in many regions, including the U.S. However, individuals involved in inappropriate relationships may still face civil liability for violating marital rights.

In divorce cases, adultery remains one of the top ten grounds for filing. Collecting evidence of infidelity now involves proving a cohabitation relationship, a long-term intimate connection, or the occurrence of inappropriate conduct, rather than relying solely on physical evidence.
